Rumie was founded in 2013 by Tariq Fancy with the goal of making digital learning open and accessible to all people. Rumie-Learn is a collection of online micro-learning experiences (called bytes) that build transferable career and life skills. Rumie-Build allows volunteer experts from companies, organizations, and nonprofits to create the bytes through an open collaboration platform. Rumie-Build, a rapid cloud-based authoring tool, makes it easy to build bytes, blending leading instructional design practices, which are shown to be 20 percent more effective than traditional learning, with social media mechanics.
