The International Youth Foundation (IYF) was started in 1990 to advance youth agency, economic opportunity, and systems change with youth worldwide. It coordinates with governments, business entities, and local partners to offer programming to expand education, technical and life skills training, and to offer service-learning and employment opportunities for disadvantaged and unemployed youth in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and the United States. In 1992, the World Economic Forum designated IYF as Charity of the Year. The IYF has launched youth organizations, including Equip Youth, Skills for Youth Employment, and the Youth Opportunity Initiative in Chicago, and produces the Global Youth Wellbeing Index report. Product sales from Passport to Success, which has been taught to more than 200,000 youth in 50+ countries, fund the organization’s non-profit work. IYF has received two awards for Passport to Success Traveler: mEducation Alliance’s EdTech Champion Award in the Youth & Workforce category and the Brandon Hall Group’s Gold Award for Best Advance in Social Impact Innovation (Future of Work category).
